Thurgood Marshall

Thurgood Marshall [Thurgood Marshall]
(1908–93) the first ↑African American judge of the US Supreme Court (1967–91). He is remembered especially for winning the 1954 case before the Supreme Court which ended ↑segregation in public schools. He was later US Solicitor General (1965–7).
